Maersk Oil shall not be partner of BM-C-34 due to “lack of economic interest”
Maersk Oil has closed a deal to transfer its 20% interest on Blocks C-M-471 and C-M-473, on Campos Basin, to BP Energy, which will hold 50% of the agreement, in partnership with Petrobras. The operation was motivated by Maersk Oil’s lack of economic interest on the asset and represents the search for new projects. The agreement was submitted to the Administrative Council of Economic Defense (“Cade”) on April. If concluded, BP Energy will remain on the agreement’s operation (BM-C-34) and Petrobras, in the consortium, will continue to have the remaining 50%. The motivation and information of the operation are registered in documents remitted to the Council.
